I offer two styles of Boudoir with two contrasting lighting and posing styles, a “High Key”, luminous and soft one and a “Low Key, moody and dark one. Some clients opt to have a selection of images taken in both styles, whereas others prefer one style over the other. The choice is up to your preference and personality. Both styles are suitable for Bridal Boudoir.
My two galleries illustrate these two contrasting but equally beautiful styles:
A “High Key” style Boudoir has a luminous and soft feel, without dark shadows; one with the client styled not only with pastels and light tone lingerie but also with shirts, cardigans, silk and lace. This style has a very feminine, light feeling, perfect for bridal boudoir and can include some smiley, "look at the camera" poses. For this style of Boudoir I use mostly natural light on it’s own to create luminous, airy images that have nothing of the night about them.
A ”Low Key” style of Boudoir puts the emphasis on seductive, moody, darker light which contours the woman’s body allowing certain features to fall into darkness whilst emphasizing others. This style of Boudoir will suit more sexy lingerie in darker tones, high heels and stronger make up. Images will be deliberately more grainy, often in black and white, with a film noir feel which is emphasized by the type of light that I use for this type of Boudoir.
